From a carefree IU cheerleader to a quadriplegic, Kelly’s life changed in an instant she was hit by a drunk-driver at the age of 19. She was determined that this event was not going to just change her life, but change her life for good. Through her faith in God, her inner strength, and the support of family, she has risen above obstacles time and time again to shine brightly as a wife, a mother, a teacher, a public speaker, an author, and above all a true witness to Christ.

As an elementary school teacher for the past 11 years, Kelly continually pours into kids for what is often a life-changing result. Her focus is not only on developing their intellectual capacity, but more importantly their character and moral compass.

Along with her aunt, Michelle Weidenbenner, Kelly recently wrote the memoir, Fractured Not Broken. In the book, Kelly shares her story of loss, faith, and a rare love that only happens in nonfiction.

Kelly lives in Jasper, Indiana, with her husband of 6 years. Together, they are waiting patiently for the arrival of their two children whom they are adopting from Africa.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
